A Way Forward in Ministry as the ANE District
At this past District Conference, delegates and attendees were introduced to the Way Forward ministry focus and were provided copies and an overview of the Way Forward Report and Commitment. The Way Forward Report and Commitment provide a vision and strategies about how we as the ANE District, congregations and individuals can do ministry together in the future while working at the issues where we differ.
The Way Forward Report and Commitment emerged from conversations that occurred among approximately 150 District leaders in May 2019. Please click on this link for additional background information.
The District Board, at its meeting on June 16, 2020, affirmed the Way Forward Report and adopted the Way Forward Commitment. The Report and Commitment affirmed and adopted by the Board and shared with the District Conference delegates is available by clicking on the link below.
We encourage our congregations and their members and friends to review and give prayerful consideration to the Way Forward Report and covenant. Please take note the Way Forward ministry focuses on our spiritual life, our relationship and connection with each other in community, teaching and service. With a focus on this vision over the next 3 to 5 years, the Way Forward has the potential to change how we do ministry together in new, exciting and productive ways
The District Board is planning to hold a retreat at the end of January 2021 to focus on its role in implementing the Way Forward ministry. Following this retreat, we expect there will be efforts to engage congregations and individuals in implementing the Way Forward ministry focus.
Questions and reflections are welcome. Please forward them to the District Office at kdickson@ane-cob.org.
Please join us in prayer and in helping us with a Way Forward in ministry!
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you
to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that
together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
